Towards an ArcIMS CFC and possibly beyond.

Paul Hastings, Mike Nimer, Seth Duffey and various others originally began a project a while back to create an ArcIMS CFC framework based on the Java connector. They did quite a bit of work and actually began a framework for any map service out here - such as arcweb services etc. Now that ESRI is creating a new Java ADF for ArcIMS at version 9.2 I think it is time to rally the troops in order to get something like this done for ColdFusion.

Another advantage with ArcIMS/ArcGIS Server at 9.2 is that the ADF has methods for ArcIMS and ArcGIS Server, so having such a framework available for ColdFusion would really open the doors for not only CF development on the ESRI Server platforms, but also open the ESRI world even further to Flex development. There is some interest at ESRI Headquarters in Redlands in getting this done, but if anyone out there can assist with the "groundswell" request, I think we can kick-start this idea again with the aim of getting something by the 9.2 release -- let me know what you think.

You are right -- too quick sometimes -- I edited the post. Thanks.

Great idea Kirk; I would be willing to help with development etc.
