Flex for the people

Well, I just received this e-mail which states:

Adobe will announce tomorrow that the Flex SDK, including the Flex Framework and compiler, will be free. Yes, free.

That e-mail also said to go ahead and blog away...so it must not be on the NDA ? I must admit I had to read this line over a few times, and I will still only really believe it when they anounce it. Certainly an Expression buster if ever there was one. I think this is the smartest and boldest move to make at the moment with the IE7 beta being released and MS cranking up the Vista hype. I think the money of Adobe is paying off in a big way as I don't think Macromedia could have ever made such a move -- this will definitely ensure that Flex will not die in the short term as thousands -- Adobe wants millions they say -- can start cranking out apps and put them on Apache servers, while the world waits for another Microsoft Vista deadline push. What next -- will apple do a Flex interface for iTunes ?
